This has been coming for a while, but I am scaling back my woodworking business. I am just too busy with other obligations to provide the type of service I think customers deserve. I will still be working on projects, including shaving brushes and other items. However, I will no longer be actively selling them through this site. When I have items for sale, I will post pictures of them here. If you see something you like, email me.

I turn these silvertip badger hair shaving brushes in my small woodworking shop. Since every shave brush I make is hand-turned, you won’t find another one like it anywhere. While I have several brushes for sale here, my core business is producing custom brushes for my customers. In most cases, the cost for a custom brush will be the same as the cost you see for these brushes, so if you don't see what you are looking for, please contact me. I am happy to build you just the brush you are looking for.

One of the advantages of ordering a custom brush is that you can order the brush that you want instead of just accepting the brush as designed by me or any other manufacturer. The list of possible variations includes:

Wood choice
Knot size (22mm, 25mm, 28mm, 30mm). My 30mm knots have a slightly lower density than my normal high-density knots. They make excellent cream brushes.
Bristle characteristics (firm or flexible) Click here to see a photo comparison of knot sizes and lofts.
Handle shape and size. More brushes I have made can be seen here.

At this point, the two variables that affect the brush cost are the knot size and the wood choice. Most wood choices do not include an additional charge, but some rare woods like burl woods, black ebony, and black and white ebony are very expensive and often difficult to work with. For these woods, I charge a little bit extra (typically $15/brush), but they produce truly amazing wood handles.

My knots are produced in China to my specifications and imported by me. I only use super badger (silvertip) brush knots. I inspect each knot before assembling the brushes to ensure that it meets my requirements for the highest quality wooden handled brushes available.
