This has been coming for a while, but I am scaling back my woodworking business. I am just too busy with other obligations to provide the type of service I think customers deserve. I will still be working on projects, including shaving brushes and other items. However, I will no longer be actively selling them through this site. When I have items for sale, I will post pictures of them here. If you see something you like, email me.
I will occasionally post
about my work on my blog. Finally, I will leave the rest of the site up, but won't leave any of the "buy" links live. One of these days I will reactivate things. Thanks for your interest.
Best regards,
Dan
About 10 years ago I sat in a hand built Windsor chair the first time. It was crafted by a friend that had learned to build chairs from the Windsor chair guru Mike Dunbar. I was amazed at the comfortable, resilient feel of the chair. Two years ago, I also began the process of learning to build Windsor chairs, also studying under Mike Dunbar. Examples of some of my chairs are shown in the photographs on this website.
The Windsor Chair This historic chair design has been in use in the U.S. since Colonial times. The chairs use a combination of different woods, depending on the chair part, to achieve a light, durable, and comfortable product. The chair design is engineered so well that 200 year-old Windsor chairs are still functional today.
Chairs are priced as follows:
